Artistic initiatives in BCC – Krakow

Bonarka City Center, one of the most popular shopping centres in Krakow, is at the same time a cultural hotspot in the city which is considered by many as Poland´s capital of culture. Following its tendency to support culture, Bonarka City Center has developed a long term communication strategy focusing on Krakow´s artistic traditions. The strategy has started with Bonarka´s project „Collection of fine arts“, an exhibition showing photos from the second half of the nineteenth century up until the 1930´s of figures in folk costumes. The centre´s yearly communication campaign will also promote creative activity, finding inspiration in local artists and their creations. Bonarka City Center is a multifunctional city centre, which brings together 260 shops, restaurants and service points, including the biggest cinema multiplex in Krakow, Cinema City. The shopping centre is also home to the first educational Youth Center „Siemacha spot“. Chief investment officer of TriGranit, Tomasz Lisiecki, explained the potential in multifunctional developments in areas where no office and retail schemes are available: „For developers it creates higher property value, for office workers these projects offer great reach to various type of services in one place, for communities, a mixed-use development can provide not only a new, recultivated area, but a new city centre at the same time“. Combining entertainment, utility and culture, Bonarka City Center is quickly becoming a promoter of creative activity on many different artistic fields in Krakow.
