Polish mobile market sectors grow

The latest report released by market intelligence company PMR revealed that in 2015 the estimated value of Polish mobile internet and value-added services market reached a total value of PLN 5.8 bn, 16.4 percent more than the previous year. This increase had a significant impact on the whole Polish mobile telephone market which grew by PLN 1.2 bn. The prosperity in the mobile internet market was motivated by the revenues generated in mobile telephone and modem segments throughout the sales of mobile data transmission services. The number of subscribers using mobile internet services has increased by approximately four million in the last five years. The segment of value-added services is also evolving continuously due to the profit obtained through payments made using premium-rate SMS messages. Mobile operators have shown a progressive interest in both sectors due to the need to find new activities capable of making up for the decline in their revenue generated by calls and text messages.
